| overthepastyears,electronicnosetechnologyopenedthepossibilitytoexploitinformationonaromaattributetoassessfruitripeninstageduringstorage.theob-jectiveinthisstudywastoevaluatethecapacityofelectronicnoseinmonitoringthechangeinvolatiproductionofmandarinduringdifferentstoragetreatments,andstorageshelf-lifeofmandarinwasevaluatedbymeasuringthechangeivolatileproductionofmandarinusingelectronicnosedevicepen2.bycomparing,storageshelf-lifeofmandarinwasbettdistinguishedusinglineardiscriminantanalysisldathanprincipalcomponentanalysispca.pcaandldaanalysiswerefcienttoclassifymandarinwiththesamestoragetimeinitsrespectivegroups;butthemethodsarenotefcienttoseparatethmandarinsbydifferentstoragetimes.thecorrelationbetweenthemeasuredandpredictedvaluesoffruitqualityattributesuchasolublesolidcontent,acidityandcompressionforceshowspoortoreasonablepredictionperformancebymeansofelectronicnossignals.theresultsprovethatsensors2,7and9intheelectronicnosepen2formandarinhaveahigherinuenceinthecurrentpatterle.hence,nearlyasubsetoffewsensorscanbechosentoexplainallthevariance.thisresultcouldbeusedinfurtherstudiestooptimizthenumberofsensorsandndbetterperformance. |
